About Burnside
UnitingCare Burnside is a member of the UnitingCare Children, Young People and Families Service Group of UnitingCare NSW.ACT. We stand in the Uniting Church tradition of compassion and concern for justice.
Burnside began in 1911 when the first home was opened at North Parramatta for orphaned and abandoned children.
Today we are one of the largest providers of child and family services in New South Wales and in 2010 Burnside worked with 13,000 children, young people and family members.
For further information please view the Burnside Capabilities Document.

Become a foster carer
Make a difference in a child’s life and they will make a difference in your life.
UnitingCare Burnside is looking for foster carers to make a difference to the life of a vulnerable child.
Many children are in unstable family environments and are in need of care and support from someone like you.
Foster carers come in all varieties – single, married, defacto or same sex couples – UnitingCare Burnside welcomes carers from
any background or family situation.
Children may need care for days, months or years. Help out a child in crisis in the short-term or take a child into your family for
the long-term – it’s your choice.
Foster carers are matched with caseworkers who provide extensive and tailored 24/7 support. In return, ongoing training and a tax free allowance are provided.
UnitingCare Burnside has been providing high quality foster care services for vulnerable children in NSW for 100 years.
